Open Casting Call for Highland Park Players fall production of 42nd Street at West Ridge Center, Highland Park

Highland Park, IL (May 2, 2012) – For all local residents who like to sing and dance, and maybe had dreams of stardom one day, the chance to perform in the Highland Park Players' production of 42nd Street is here. The local theatre group will have an open casting call for the large-scale musical on June 2nd, from 1:30p.m. - 4:00p.m. and June 4th from 7:00p.m. - 9:30p.m. Callbacks, if necessary, will be held on Saturday,  June 9th starting at 1:30p.m.  Auditions will be held at West Ridge Center, 636 Ridge Rd. in Highland Park.

All roles are available for ages 14 and older, and reservations for the auditions are not needed. Actors are required to prepare 32 bars of a song to sing and come ready to tap dance and do cold readings. Rehearsals begin August 6 with a detailed schedule posted at auditions. Performances will be held at the Northbrook Theatre on Oct. 12-14, Oct. 19-21, and Oct. 25-27.

42nd Street is a big, bold musical set in 1933 that celebrates the stuff that dreams are made of. It is a celebration of Broadway and the people involved in shows. The show is the winner of two Tony Awards for Best Musical and Choreography.
