The Board of Park Commissioners would like to thank the community for their participation in the public meeting regarding Park District turf management options on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at West Ridge Center. The meeting afforded the Board an opportunity to gather additional information, input and suggestions regarding this important issue. The Board is continuing to take this matter under advisement.

It is unfortunate that Dr. Bruce Branham, Professor in the Department of Crop Sciences in the College of Agriculture, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, was unable to attend the meeting due to a private, last-minute family matter. Similarly, Dr. Warren Porter, Professor of Zoology and  Professor of Environmental Toxicology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison was unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict. Both of them have provided the Board with written comments, however, and these have been made available to the public .  Please contact the Park District at info@pdhp.org for copies of any of these documents.

Additional, non-duplicative materials regarding turf management programs and policies may be submitted to the Park District until October 21, 2011.  Thank you again for your participation in this process.
