This is the fourth year that Highland Park Poetry and PACE have collaborated on Poetry That Moves, to display poetry inside north suburban PACE buses operating between Evanston, Highland Park, Waukegan and Ravinia Festival Parking shuttles. Highland Park Poetry conducts the annual Poetry That Moves contest seeking twelve poems each year to be featured. Highland Park poet Tania Runyan served as the guest judge and made the difficult decisions after reading the 150 submissions. The poems were then given to Blake Novotny and his graphic design students at the Highland Park High School to translate the selected poems into eye-catching posters for the buses. Program sponsors included The Highland Park Bootery, Poetic License, Inc., Poetic License Press and East On Central, Highland Park's Journal of Arts & Letters.
On Saturday, January 26 at 3:00 p.m., Highland Park Poetry hosted a Reading & Recognition honoring the poets and graphic designers. The afternoon event at The Art Center included a display of the all the poems featured in 2013.
