Twelve
restaurants and food and beverage vendors have already committed to participate
in the Taste of the North Shore and Family Festival, which will be held the
weekend of August 4 and 5 at the Ascension Lutheran Church in Northfield, says
event planner Candice Kuhnen, president of ABC Communications, adding that she
expects there will be 15-17 vendors at the event.
“This
festival will provide an opportunity for families in Northfield, Glenview, Northbrook,
Kenilworth, Winnetka, Glencoe and other nearby suburbs to have family fun on a
prime summer weekend, while funds are raised for families in need,” says
Kuhnen. "The event promotes local restaurants and offers entertainment for
parents, teens and children. It will include a secure supervised Kids Korner
with petting zoo and pony rides and will offer board games and a variety of
family entertainment: magician, clown, face painting, storytelling and
more." We are also working with several businesses locally who are
providing entertainment for families to engage in. There is a beer and wine
garden, outdoor dining court and tented dining with live music throughout the
day.
Planned
hours for the event will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 8:30

ABC
Communications is a full service marketing agency based in Glencoe, Ill. In its
30th year, ABC combines event marketing celebrating special events of high end
retailers, corporations and other organizations with charitable fund raising in

The Ascension
Lutheran Church, located at 460 Sunset Ridge Road in Northfield, Ill.,
celebrated its first worship service in the fall of 1958 and today serves more
than xxx worshipers in the surrounding North Shore suburbs, with average
worship attendance of more than 200. Its first home was in the Hubbard Woods
School, Winnetka, and it moved to Sunset Ridge School in Northfield, the
following January. Groundbreaking for the current church building came in the
