City Honors Veterans at Memorial Day Ceremony

Event brings about 100 to Veterans Memorial Park Monday morning.

The City of Highland Park held its at Monday at Veterans Memorial Park. 

The ceremony began with music performed by the Highland Park High School Band, and continued with a Presentation of Colors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering spoke in addition to VFW Commander Gregory Detlie, Jewish War Veterans Commander Lloyd LeVine and American Legion Commander George A. Nauman.

"Let us never forget," Detlie said, "Those who helped build and make this country what it is."
