Deerfield Patch Editor Says Goodbye
Natalie Kaplan thanks the community she covered for its support over the past year.
About one year ago Deerfield Patch launched, I could have never imagined what a success it would be in such a short period of time.
I want to thank everyone for embracing the website and the content we work extremely hard to bring you on a daily basis.
While I’ve enjoyed my time here, I’ve decided to move on. But don’t think you won’t see me around town anymore because I’m actually not going that far. I’m joining the Township High School District 113’s communications department and will still be in the area!
Now that I'm addicted to Tony's subs and Renu Day Spa, how could I leave?
You’ll also notice a few stories posted by me in the weeks to come.
On my last day with Patch, I’d like to look back at some of my favorite stories. Hopefully, you enjoyed them as much as I did:
- Owner Teaches Dog How to Recycle Human Trash
- Yang Talks Murder Details with Best Friend on Wiretap
- Local Dems Join Thousands Protesting in Madison
- Autism: My Child Has It, Please Understand
- Fresh From Their Family Farm to Your Front Door
For now, guest editor Samantha Nelson will be managing the site until my replacement begins. Please send all news tips to samantha1nelson@gmail.com. As always, we appreciate all story suggestions and want to stay up to date with commnity news that's important to you.
Thanks for your support this year and keep coming back to Deerfield Patch!

Natalie, you will truly be missed at Patch! It's always been inspiring to see what you come up with as my neighbor to the north (including your amazing coverage of the Marni Yang trial). You had better stay in touch :)
