Our list of what's doing in Highland Park this weekend.

Looking for something to do in the neighborhood this weekend? Check out our list below for fun stuff happening in Highland Park.

Royko in Love
Where/When: Highland Park Public Library; Thursday, 7 p.m.
Why Go: Before he began penning Pulitzer-prize winning columns, Mike Royko was writing love notes to his first wife. Those letters have been collected and published, and a few of them will be read by Royko's son, David.
Pricing: Free.

Footloose
Where/When: Highland Park High School Auditorium; Thursday-Saturday, 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m.
Why Go: It's a show about a small town where dancing is outlawed. Much dancing ensues, courtesy of an all-star cast.
Pricing: $10 per ticket.

Boys Basketball: Highland Park vs. Deerfield
Where/When:
Highland Park High School; Friday, 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Because rivalry games are always the most exciting, and because Highland Park is due for a win.

Poetry Open Mic
Where/When:
The Art Center Highland Park; Friday, 8 p.m.
Why Go: Because you know you've been dying for an audience to read your romantic poems to. Why else did you go through the trouble of writing them in iambic pentameter?
Pricing: Free.

High School Student Art Exhibit
Where/When:
The Art Center Highland Park; Ongoing until Friday.
Why Go: You've only got two days left to check out the awesome art work submitted by Highland Park High School students.
Pricing: Free.

Cupid's Love Dash
Where/When: Braeside School; Sunday, 9:30 a.m.
Why Go: Because nothing says true love like agreeing to run four miles on a Sunday morning. And because you get to wear costumes.
Pricing: $30.
