Earlier:
A 12-year-old Highland Park boy with a history of running away from home went missing Sunday morning.
Vatrell L. Knox, described as 5'2'' and 95 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, left his home Sunday and hasn't been seen since, according to a news release issued by the Highland Park Police Department.
The release also said that Knox "has demonstrated a level of frustration with personal matters and has indicated that he may harm himself."
The Edgewood Middle School student ran away from home in February, and was found at the Navy Pier after an intense search that included help from North Shore and Chicago police officers, Highland Park volunteers and a helicopter. Knox knows how to use trains and buses to get around and has given fake information out in the past when questioned. He was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and white shoes.
Those with any information on Knox's whereabouts are encouraged to contact the Highland Park Police Department at 847-432-7730.

What is going on in this child's house that he feels he has to run away time and time again? Is anyone listening to this child? What can we as a community do to help? Something is wrong when a boy this small runs away so many times.

It could be nothing in the house - the kid could have some psychological issues, OR it could be something outside of the home that he hasn't told anyone. OR, the kid's 12 - the whole "frustrated with personal issues and I might harm myself" thing could be something he saw on TV and is using as an excuse because he felt like going on a walkabout but his parents said no...

Vatrell is my friend. I know that neither of his parents are decent. He lives with his grandma. There ARE problems in his life
