Highwood Fire Chief Turns Himself In On Felony Warrant

Ronald Pieri posted $5,000 bail for charges of theft of services and property.

 

Update 11/3: Triblocal reports that Highwood officials have placed Highwood Fire Chief Ronald Pieri on paid administrative leave "in the wake of allegations that he claimed false work hours with the department."

Earlier: Pieri turned himself into the Lake County Sheriff's Department Tuesday on a felony warrant for charges of theft of services and property, Triblocal reports.

From Triblocal:

Pieri, 51, of the 500 block of Lockard, appeared at the department at about 11 a.m. Later he posted $5,000 bail and was released at about 12:40 p.m., according to court documents.

What is going on here??? First it's the Mayor getting arrested for DUI, now the Fire Chief arrested for Felony Theft!!! Come on People, lets open our eyes and get these clowns out of here!!! Things are tough enough with the economic conditions that we are experiencing.

you are telling me that the Lake County Sheriff will pick up an innocent person and would make them post $5,000 Cash of a $50,000 bond to get out of Jail!!! Come on!!!
are you that naive? Seriously, If there was a warrant out for me, and it was for something that I HAD NOT COMMITTED, you know damn well that I will have them pick me up before I would turn myself in!!

He is still on leave. Still getting paid. For a fiscally-challenged city, they seem to have a lot to lose here. Let's see if his wife wins the mayoral election.
