New Ice Skating Rink Opens Thursday

Port Clinton Square is about to get a lot icier.

Central Avenue isn't the only part of Highland Park that's covered in ice. A new ice skating rink opens Thursday afternoon in Port Clinton Square.

Made from synthetic ice, the 50-foot rink will be open Mondays through Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Fridays from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"The ice rink is something that we expect to be a new treasured tradition in downtown Highland Park for years to come," Amy Amdur, Marketing Chairperson for the Downtown Highland Park Alliance, said in a statement.

Admission price and plans to provide rental skates are pending.

What a great idea! Thanks for continuing to create more reasons to go to HP downtown and support our community.
