Pavement Marking To Slow Traffic Thursday

Pfingsten and Deerfield Roads affected in specific locations.

Pavement marking will slow traffic at two Deerfield locations throughout the day today, according to an email from Village Project Engineer John Guccione.

The marking will take place on Deerfield Road and Carriage Way as well as on Pfingsten Road between the 500 Corporate Center and Lake Cook Road. Guccione suggests finding alternatives today if possible.

“This is a required operation, as pavement marking is an essential part of traffic safety,” Guccione said in the email. “Avoid construction delays by selecting alternate routes when available. Please drive slowly and cautiously through any and all construction zones.”

Why not stripe these areas in the middle of the night when it won't adversely affect traffic?

Because that's too smart of an idea. Why don't they work on Western and halfday at night? It makes kids late to school and it makes other late to work.
