Police Blotter: Indecent Exposure and Aggravated Battery to Police Officer

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Disorderly Conduct/Public Indecency

Luke Moretti, 30, of the 700 block of Judson Avenue was arrested and charged on March 25 for public indecency after police responded to a complaint of a person exposing himself to an open apartment door with the public view, in the 700 block of Judson Avenue, Highland Park on March 19. Moretti was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of April 10 at 18 N. County St., Waukegan, IL.

Driving While License Suspended

 Maurice Jones, Jr., 28, of Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police in the 100 block of the Edens Expressway, Highland Park. Jones, Jr. was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of April 11 at 301 Greenleaf St., Park City, Illinois.

Kenneth Villalobos, 26, of Highwood, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, uninsured motor vehicle and possession of cannabis after being stopped by police near the intersection of Elm Place and Green Bay Road, Highland Park. Villalobos was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of April 25 at 301 Greenleaf St., Park City, Illinois.

Antonio Hernandez, 46, of Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Hernandez was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of April 25 at 301 Greenleaf St., Park City, Illinois.

Theft

Alec Just, 18, of Deerfield, was arrested and charged with theft after police investigated the complaint of a stolen calculator and US currency in the 400 block of Vine, Highland Park. Just was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of April 23 at 18 N. County St., Waukegan, IL.

Police are investigating the delayed report of a theft of an iPad. It was reported an Apple iPad was accidentally left at a business in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road on the evening of Feb. 24. Staff there had located the iPad and placed it in the safe for return to the owner. On March 15 the iPad could not be located.  

Matthew Wallor, 19, of Lake Zurich, was arrested and charged with theft on March 22, after police investigated the complaint of US Currency that was taken from a padlocked lock box between March 20 and March 21 in the 3000 block of Trail Way, Highland Park. Wallor was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of April 25 at 301 Green Leaf St., Park City, IL.

Police are investigating a report of a bicycle found on the Union Pacific right of way behind the 1300 block of Ridgewood. The bicycle was transported to the Police Department. The owner of the bicycle had reported it stolen at approx. 3:45 p.m. on March 21. The bicycle was stolen from a school bike rack between 8:30 a.m. on March 21 and 3:30 p.m. on March 22. Bicycle was returned to owner.

Police are investigating a report of a theft of a bicycle (Black Magnum Racing BMX bike with new handle grips and gray forks) from a bike rack in the 400 block of Vine Avenue, Highland Park, sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. March 22.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that items have gone missing from a home in the 2900 block of South Murphy Road, Highland Park since January 2012. Items missing include a cooking pot, set of four bowls, two Nintendo DSI Excels, one Toshiba laptop and one sapphire/diamond gold ring.

Police are investigating the delayed report of a theft of an iPhone. It was reported that an Apple iPhone was accidentally left at a business in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road at approximately 3:15 p.m. on March 25. When the loss was realized, the phone was gone.

Driving Under the Influence

Jose Hernandez, 22, of Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, uninsured motor vehicle, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and cell phone ordinance after police responded to a report of an accident in the 700 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Hernandez was transported to bond court at 18 N. County St., Waukegan, IL pending court date.

Amy Silver, 48, of the 900 block of Judson Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving under the influence, leaving scene of property damage accident, disobeying a traffic control device, improper lane usage and failure to obey a police officer after police responded to a report of an accident in the 1700 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park. The vehicle drove off the roadway and struck two trees. Prior to striking the trees, Silver had struck another vehicle (incident 12-03200), a pedestrian and a Police Officer tending to the first accident. Silver was transported to bond court at 18 N. County St., Waukegan, IL pending court date.

Criminal Damage to Property

Police are investigating a delayed report of criminal damage to property. It was reported that on March 22 at approximately 9 a.m. a couch was found dumped, as well as multiple trees with graffiti sprayed on them. No recognizable gang graffiti was found. The graffiti looked childish in nature (stick figures, etc.) in neon spray paint. The incident occurred in the 700 block of Red Oak Lane, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a delayed report of Criminal Damage to Property. It was reported that a garage was spray painted obscenities sometime between March 23 at 7 p.m. and March 24 7:55 a.m. in the 100 block of Vine Avenue, Highland Park. The neighborhood was checked and an additional incident was located in the 200 block of Vine Avenue.

While police were investigating a delayed report of criminal damage to property, where a vehicle was reported spray painted obscenities sometime overnight between March 23 at 9:40 p.m. and March 24 at 9 a.m. in the 200 block of Vine Avenue, Highland Park.
