Aggravated assault

Alberto Ardila, 55, of the 900 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after police responded to a 911 call of a public complaint and an intoxicated subject with a knife in the 900 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park. Ardila was transported to bond court at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date.

Driving while license suspended

Eriselda Gaytan, 32, of the 300 block of Bloom Street, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police near the intersection of Maple Avenue and St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park. Gaytan was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 23, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Cesar Ruiz, 23, of the 4900 block of South Karlov, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and no taillights after being stopped by police in the 1300 block of Half Day Road, Highland Park. Ruiz was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 23, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Larry Ballenger, 46, of the 1100 block of 27th Street, Zion, was arrested and charged with Driving while license Suspended after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Ballenger was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 23, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Theft

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that jewelry was stolen on Sunday, April 22,  between 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. from a locked closet, during a private open house in the 900 block of Sheridan Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that scrap metal was taken from a yard in a fenced in area at the rear of a building in the 1500 block of Old Skokie Road, Highland Park on April 23. 

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that a Russian art deco bowl made from sterling silver has gone missing within the last two years from a residence in the 100 block of Deere Park Drive, Highland Park.

Police are investigating a report of a Theft. It was reported that a silver colored Dodge drove off after failing to pay for gasoline. The incident occurred in the 1400 block of Park Avenue West, Highland Park, IL. 

Motor vehicle theft

Police are investigating a delayed report of a motor vehicle theft. It was reported that sometime between April 21 at 6 p.m., and April 23 at 5 p.m., a Green Toyota 4Runner was taken from the north west side of the dealership lot in the 400 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. The vehicle was recovered by Lombard Police Department on April 26, 2012 resulting in the arrest of two subjects. 

Criminal damage to property

Police on routine patrol located gang related graffiti consisting of letters and symbols on a back interior door to a men's bathroom stall in the 1900 block of First Street, Highland Park. The letters and symbols measured approximately 3" in height by 2" in width and appeared to be etched in to the wooden door by an unknown object. 

Police are investigating a delayed report of criminal damage to property. It was reported that a double light wall sconce had been pulled from its base and was left in some nearby bushes. The fixture was undamaged, however would need to be re-mounted on the wall. The incident occurred in the 600 block of Laurel Avenue, Highland Park between 8:45 p.m. and 9 p.m. on April 23, 2012.

Police are investigating a delayed report of criminal trespass to property. A vacant property was unlawfully entered between April 19, and reported date via a rear storage room first floor window. A second floor room had writing on a wall with a date of April 20, 2012. No other damage was located. The incident occurred in the 1500 block of Sunset Road, Highland Park.

Driving under the influence

Luis Hernandez, 25, of the 2200 block of Wallace Avenue, North Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after police being stopped by police near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Prairie Avenue, Highland Park. Hernandez was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of May 25, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Ross Good, 44, of the 200 block of Thrush Circle, Lindenhurst, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, driving while license revoked, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and Illegal transportation of open alcohol after being stopped by police in the 1400 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Good was released on a cash bond with a court date of May 18, 2012 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Fulgencio Lomas-Huerta, 23, of the 1100 block of McAlister, North Chicago, was arrested and charged with aggravated driving under the influence, improper lane usage and driving while license suspended for DUI after being stopped by police near the intersection of Parkside Drive and Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Lomas-Huerta was transported to bond court at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date. Passenger, Daniel Lomas, 19, of the 200 block of McKinley, Waukegan was issued an administrative citation for consumption of alcohol by minor with a court date of June 7, 2012 at City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park. 

Theft

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that the drivers’ door was taken off of a jeep that was parked in a back lot in the 1300 block of Park Avenue, Highland Park, sometime between April 23, 2012 at 7 p.m. and April 24, 2012 at 7:30 a.m.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported that on March 5, 2012, two dental articulators, used for fabrication and testing of dental prostheses were discovered missing from an office in the1900 block of Sheridan Road, Highland Park, IL. 

Burglary to motor vehicle

Police are investigating a report of a burglary to motor vehicle. It was reported that unknown subjects entered the unlocked vehicle and removed cash. The incident occurred in the 1200 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park, IL. 

Driving while license revoked/possession of cannabis

Robert Griffin, 28,  of the 1200 block of Ridgeland Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked and improper lane usage after being stopped by police in the 300 block of the Edens Expressway, Highland Park. Griffin was released on a cash bond with a court date of May 23, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois. Passenger, Reginald Johnson of the 3300 block of Beacon Street, North Chicago was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis. Johnson was released on a cash bond with a court date of May 23, 2012 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.
