I first met Carolyn in a Business Law class where it was clear very early on that she understood business on many levels and took an interest in the business community. I saw this in action later when Carolyn established the Ravinia Block Bash, now in its third year. Carolyn saw an opportunity to bring local businesses together and do good in the neighborhood. So she put her skills as a community organizer and a local business advocate to work for the common good. Working with Carolyn on the Block Bash volunteer team, I witnessed two of her best strengths, leadership and commitment … two qualities we need on our City Council.
I’ve gotten to know Carolyn better over time. After working with her to enhance public safety on the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), I’m convinced of Carolyn’s dedication to – and knowledge of – the City of Highland Park. Not everyone volunteers to compete in the Prairie State CERT Challenge, but Carolyn stepped up to the plate for this long day of disaster response, search and rescue and hazmat/fire suppression, always acting as both leader and team member to get the job done. If public safety and security are a priority for you, Carolyn Cerf has first-hand experience working with public safety personnel to ensure your family’s security; she’s put in many hours of training to be up to the task of giving back to our community. I’m thankful she’ll be on the Council and be there for our city when we need her.
Being active in the community is second nature to Carolyn Cerf. She’s up-to-speed on the issues that matter to you, and she’s always ready to listen and discuss concerns that affect our daily lives. Understanding our concerns is a requirement for anyone seeking to represent our interests in local government. But Carolyn Cerf also has the know-how, skill and enthusiasm to represent us. Please don’t miss this opportunity to put Carolyn to work for the people of Highland Park.
Carolyn will put her strengths - leadership, commitment and hands-on experience - to work for us. But Carolyn can only do this with YOUR support. Election Day is only 8 weeks away. Please join me and many other supporters in giving our time, effort and VOTES to elect Carolyn Cerf for Highland Park City Council!
Signed,

Plus you are by far the bet looking candidate and your not best friends with Nancy. Good luck.

@ Daniel, whether you are the "bet" looking candidate or best friends with Nancy should not make a difference. I would not want all of my enemies to be on the council were I Mayor of the city. If one feels that they are qualified to run, regardless of background, then Go for it!!

I feel that Carolyn would be a good fit for the returning Council members as well as shows no ill will for any of the council members or candidates. Our council is open minded and electing Carolyn will go a long way to keep full representation on our Council with a member who can join in on any debate but see the big picture to work with all members for the betterment of the whole city.

Carolyn certainly has the passion to do what is best for our city, and has been very involved. Qualities a candidate needs to better our community
