North Suburban Synagogue Beth El (1175 Sheridan Rd., Highland Park) will host a screening of the documentary Refuge: Stories of the Selfhelp Home on Wednesday, August 29 at 1:00 pm. The film reveals the origins and originality of a resourceful community that over generations has brought together more than 1,000 Central European Jewish refugees and Holocaust survivors under one roof.
