DESCRIPTION:The City of Highwood has announced that the reconstruction an
 d improvement of Green Bay Road will begin in June of 2012\, to be compl
 eted by October 2012. The area of work stretches between Highwood Avenue
  to Washington Avenue. The City has retained Baxter &amp\; Woodman\, Inc
 . to engineer and construct the project\, as well as the contractor\, La
 ndmark Construction.&nbsp\;\nThe Green Bay Road Project will feature imp
 rovements of water main work and water system upgrades\, storm sewer rep
 lacement\, removal and replacement of curbs and gutters (designed to mat
 ch previously reconstructed area sidewalks that feature decorative brick
  pavers)\, pavement resurfacing\, and a new three-way stop installation 
 at North Avenue and Green Bay Road. This new intersection will improve p
 edestrian safety.\nThe project also includes reconstruction of Funston A
 venue\, between North Avenue and Burchell Avenue. The work here includes
  water main replacement\, storm sewer replacement and new curb and gutte
 r installation.\nResidents and business owners will be updated periodica
 lly as the work progresses. While the contractor performs water service 
 work and storm sewer replacement\, sections of the street may be inacces
 sible for short durations of the day\, but the road will be open otherwi
 se. The City will notify residents and businesses in advance if they nee
