Highwood is doing a call out to find our next Garlic Queen! During Highwood's Second Annual Garlic Festival on August 15th, a new Garlic Queen will be crowned. Last years winner will pass on the crown and bragging rights to the best competitor. In order to compete, one must be 18 years or older and be prepared to make a short speech explaining why they would be the best representative of Highwood as the Garlic Queen; the winner will be chosen by audience applause. Responsibilities of the Garlic Queen include leading the Highwood Pumpkin Fest Parade, as well as participating in Highwood for the Holidays in December. The Garlic Queen will be crowned at 8 PM on August 15th, and you can apply at www.celebratehighwood.com/garlicfest, or by picking up a form at Joseph Jordan Encore in Highwood.
