DESCRIPTION:HIGHWOOD\, Ill. - The Midwest Young Artists (MYA) Symphony Or
 chestra is set to participate in the 2012 Lang Lang International Music 
 Summit this August. MYA students will work with talented young pianists 
 from the Lang Lang Young Scholars program through a weeklong experience 
 which will serve as a cultural and musical exchange for all involved. Th
 e summit will culminate in a grand performance for the public at the Jay
  Pritzker Pavilion at Chicago's Millennium Park on August 10th at 6:30pm
 . MYA is an award-winning non-profit music school known for its communit
 y outreach efforts and collaboration with other non-profits and charitie
 s.&nbsp\;\nLang Lang is a world famous classical pianist\, and at the ag
 e of 28 has already spent 10 years of his life giving back to the global
  community of young musicians. The vision of his foundation includes mak
 ing classical music accessible to children and providing the best educat
 ional opportunities in the world to hopeful young musicians\, many of wh
 om would never have had such access.&nbsp\;\nLang Lang has lent his effo
 rts to charitable activities as diverse as convening 100 pianists in con
 cert\, playing music for sick children in hospitals\, delivering classic
 al music recitals in underserved and remote communities\, donating his m
 usical talents to benefit concerts\, and personally mentoring rising you
 ng talented pianists. In the process\, Lang Lang has inspired young peop
 le to believe that music can make life better. Midwest Young Artists sha
 res Lang Lang&rsquo\;s passion for education and belief that music is a 
 powerful force for good in the world.\nCelebrated as one of the greatest
  youth orchestras in the country\, the MYA Symphony performed such piece
 s in the 2011-12 season as Strauss&rsquo\;s Ein Heldenleben and Rachmani
 noff&rsquo\;s Symphonic Dances\; pieces normally only attempted by top-l
 evel professional ensembles. This special performance will incorporate p
 iano students from the Lang Lang Young Scholars Program and feature well
