 bbling in notebooks\, scratching poems in the margins of your math homew
 ork\, and daydreaming about stories and characters? Dream of writing a b
 est selling novel some day? Then this workshop is for you &mdash\; guara
 nteed to get you inspired and writing all summer long!\nIn this week-lon
 g Creative Writing Camp\, you&rsquo\;ll write without worrying about gra
 des or deadlines\, create new work and polish existing pages\, and work 
 closely with professional writers who will help to guide your process an
 d answer any questions you have about writing\, publishing\, living the 
 writing life\, and more.\nAt the end of the week\, you&rsquo\;ll join yo
 ur campmates in presenting your stories and leave camp with a poem\, sho
 rt story\, monologue\, essay\, or even a graphic novel. Best of all\, yo
 u&rsquo\;ll get to meet other teenage writers like yourself who are seri
 ous and excited about their stories!\nThe week will have several compone
 nts:\n&bull\;&nbsp\;Writing:&nbsp\;Writing prompts to spark your imagina
 tion\, help you break through blocks\, and learn to reach new heights of
  creativity.\n&bull\;&nbsp\;Workshopping:&nbsp\;We&rsquo\;ll share our w
 ork and give each other feedback on what&rsquo\;s working well and what 
 opportunities we can find in each piece (whether it&rsquo\;s fiction\, n
 on-fiction\, poetry\, or theatre). We&rsquo\;ll talk about where we can 
 extend scenes and dialogue to push the narrative\, how word choice can a
 ffect the piece as a whole\, how to spice up language and how to find&md
 ash\;and trust&mdash\;your own amazing original voice.\n&bull\;&nbsp\;Pe
 rformance:&nbsp\;Campers will have the opportunity to rehearse and perfo
 rm their written work!\n&bull\;&nbsp\;Electives:&nbsp\;Each day there wi
 ll be time set aside for electives:\n&mdash\;Monologues/Essays/Scenes: D
 evelop your voice through memoir and dramatic monologue. You will draw f
 rom personal experience to create performable memoir pieces or generate 
 original character monologues.\n&mdash\;Performance Poetry: Take your wo
 rds and send them flying. Using material you generate at camp\, you&rsqu
 o\;ll learn to add images and experiment with words and rhythms to write
  a performable poem.\n&mdash\;Graphic Novel: Word and pictures have alwa
 ys gone together. Take your story ideas and convert them into the popula
 r graphic novel form. And no\, you don&rsquo\;t have be good at drawing!
 \n&mdash\;Short Story: If you love making up characters\, then writing s
 hort stories is the perfect mix of characters\, action\, dialogue and sc
 enes. Create a new story or bring an old one that you&rsquo\;d like to i
 mprove.\nWho Should Attend: This Young Writers Camp is open to students 
 in two age groups: grades 6-8\, and grades 9-10. (Juniors or seniors in
