Cold Delays Highland Park Waste Collection

Temperature drops to -14. Waste hauler alters schedule. Art Center Closed.

Frigid temperatures have caused a suspension of garbage and recycling collection in Highland Park today shifting pickup through Wednesday, according to Deputy City Manager Ghida Neukirch.

Residents with Monday pickup will be serviced on Tuesday and Tuesday customers will be shifted to Wednesday. Service will return to normal Thursday and Friday.

The temperature has dipped two degrees to -14 since 6 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Wind chills are still expected to reach 39 below.

The Art Center can now be added to the list or organizations which are closed, according to an email from the organization.
