First Bank of Highland Park Receives 2012 Community Partner Award from the Community Partners for Affordable Housing

First Bank of Highland Park receives award for its commitment to local housing program, Community Partners for Affordable Housing.

Highland Park, IL--  First Bank of Highland Park, in recognition of their outstanding efforts on behalf of and commitment to Community Partners for Affordable Housing (CPAH), which provides affordable housing to low and moderate income households, received the Community Partner Award at the Highland Park City Council meeting Monday, March 12, 2012.  The award was presented by Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering and the Highland Park City Council.  Accepting the award on behalf of First Bank of Highland Park were Randy Green, President and CEO, Marc Zisook, Vice President/Commercial Real Estate and member of the CPAH Advisory Board, and Denise Bryant, Director
of Marketing.

First Bank of Highland Park, a privately held, locally owned community bank in Highland Park, was selected for their generous financial and volunteer support of CPAH .   In addition to a significant financial contribution the last two years and to providing long-term financing at a discounted rate for CPAH’s affordable rental housing at Hyacinth Place, First Bank of Highland Park provided incredible volunteer support for CPAH.  A group of 30 employees and their families arrived
at a CPAH home early one weekend morning to help with a rehab.  They demolished several rooms, cleared an overgrown courtyard, broke down a bathroom, and took down fencing surrounding the property.  Those efforts saved CPAH thousands in rehab costs, while at the same time improving a local
neighborhood. First Bank of Highland Park employees also lent administrative
support to CPAH during its annual fundraising campaign.

First Bank of Highland Park’s President and CEO Randy Green
commented on the commitment they have made to supporting local efforts to
provide important programs such as CPAH. “CPAH helps meet the housing needs of some of the families in Highland Park who cannot afford to live close to work.
Our employees have participated in a home renovation and the Bank has
provided financial support to help CPAH meet affordable housing demand in
Highland Park.  We are very proud to be associated with CPAH and all they accomplish."

CPAH operates the first community land trust in Illinois and receives national attention for being at the forefront of affordable housing.  As CPAH continues to provide affordable housing, partnering with a community minded bank is a great help.

“Partnering with strong corporate partners like First Bank of Highland Park is vital to CPAH as we continue to provide affordable housing for local residents and workers, and improve neighborhoods.  It is not only their significant financial support which is critical, but their generosity of volunteer hours and ideas as they continue to find innovative ways to help us and our homeowners.  We are very grateful for their support, and are looking forward to many more years of a productive partnership,” remarked CPAH President Howard Wender.
