North Shore School District 112 Seeks Members for Superintendent's Citizen Finance Advisory Commitee

Apply by November 10

Like most school districts in Illinois, North Shore School District 112 is facing financial challenges that will require careful planning and decision-making to ensure that it meets its mission of providing an outstanding education to students while at the same time ensuring long-term financial sustainability.

As the Board of Education begins its budget planning process for the 2012-2013 academic year, NSSD Superintendent of Schools David L. Behlow invites interested community members to serve on a Superintendent’s Citizen Finance Advisory Committee, to become informed about the district’s finances and to offer recommendations regarding fiscal priorities, which will be shared with the Board during its budget planning process. The group will be comprised of a representative group of district stakeholders, including district employees, parents, and other interested community members.

To apply, visit the district website at www.nssd.org, and click on the link on the left side of the page for the Superintendent’s Citizen Finance Advisory Committee Application, or email the district’s Community Relations Specialist, Andi Rosen, at arosen@nssd.112.org. Applications must be received no later than November 10, and all applicants will be notified of their selection by November 17. Applicants should be available to attend four meetings, scheduled for Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the district administration offices, 1936 Green Bay Road, Highland Park.
