ART WEAR UNLIMITED FALL/WINTER SHOW AND SALE

On Tuesday, October 22nd and Wednesday, October 23rd from 10 a.m. till 7 p.m. and on Thursday, October 24th from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. (or by special appointment), Kathy Sackheim and Linda Brodson, curators of the twice yearly free and open to the public Art wear unlimited show/sale, will offer customers a unique opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind wearable art clothing, studio jewelry, hats and accessories. This much anticipated semi-annual event at the Highland Park Country Club, 1201 Park Avenue West, Highland Park, will feature work by artists from all over the United States representing a variety of styles and price ranges, geared toward the fashion individualist.

“The timing of our show is perfect this season,” stated Kathy Sackheim.  “Our customers will have a chance to freshen their wardrobes with clothing and accessories that are truly extraordinary.  They’ll also be able to shop early for holiday gift items and winter vacations. We are delighted to offer outstanding work from exceptional artists.”

While traveling in search of merchandise, Sackheim and Brodson discovered the unusual work of New York artist Linda Mendelson.  Mendelson’s loom-knitting features a complex system of color, shape and texture, all woven into magnificent sweaters, scarves and handbags.  Her knits can be seen in numerous museums, including New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Other new artists whose clothing will be represented are Chandra DeVance, and Mary Jaeger.  Sumptuous hand painted silk and velvet scarves and kimonos by Laura Qulligan, an artist from Taos, New Mexico are perfect purchases for the holidays.  In addition, colorful scarves suitable for snow birds or as enhancements to basic black, created by Barrington artist Meg Hood (Meg's Fine Arts), will be available.  Returning favorites include Laurie Danch,    Teri Jo Summer, and Sandi Esterman, to name a few.
