The Downtown Highland Park Alliance welcomes "The Big Dog Show," a unique outdoor art exhibition by kicks off the Dog Days of Summer as it artist Dale Rogers to its central business district.

Beginning June 28, twenty-two, 8 foot high by 10 foot long cor-ten steel “American Dog” sculptures will be placed at numerous locations throughout the Downtown Highland Park area including, Port Clinton Square, Renaissance Place, up and down Central Avenue and in front of City Hall.

Come out and listen to Dale Rogers speak about his one-of-a-kind traveling exhibit and Cari Meyers, Founder of The Puppy Mill Project, discuss the importance of community in promoting humane animal treatment.

Catch the first glimpse of The Big Dog’s and also visit with adoptable dogs from local rescues who support The Puppy Mill Project in its mission to end animal cruelty and inhumane, profit driven breeding.

Artist Dale Rogers has been working as a full time metal sculptor for over 10 years. Because everyone gains from art, Dale wanted to design a large scale exhibit for the public that could tour around the country – The Big Dog Show was successfully born from this dream.

In conjunction with the “Big Dogs” visit to Downtown Highland Park, The Puppy Mill Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public and raising awareness about the systematic animal cruelty in puppy mills, will be participating in all “Big Dogs” special events.

The event is free and begins next Saturday at 1 p.m. in front of City Hall.
