The American Legion Highland Park Post No. 145 hosts the 2011 Observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Park, located at the northwest corner of Central and St. Johns Avenues. Members of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Jewish War Veterans will participate. The Highland Park High School Band provides music for the event. Mayor Nancy R. Rotering, State Senator Susan Garrett and State Representative Karen May are special guests. All are welcome to attend. The ceremony will take place rain or shine.
