Community Corner

Grand Opening of New Nuestro Center

Family Service invites the community to the Grand Opening of the new Nuestro Center at 742-1 Sheridan Road, Highwood, on Tuesday, November 29, from 4-6 p.m. Tour the new Center! See programs in action! Meet and greet staff! Please use free parking and shuttle service at the Ft. Sheridan Railroad Station.

The Nuestro Center was founded by Family Service in 1997 as a local response to the growing needs of the Latino community. Nuestro Center provides community resources, referrals, and programs for Latino families. Some of the dynamic services offered include ESL classes, health screenings, art classes, after-school homework club, computer training and community-based summer camp. All this is possible because of volunteer and financial input from generous groups, individuals, and families.

Family Service has offered professional support for positive change to Lake County families for more than 81 years. This past year, over 4,500 individuals and families across Lake County benefited from Family Service support and programs.
