Get Out: Learn Origami at Fundraiser for Japan

Merrily We Roll Along
Where/When: ; Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.
Why Go: The Stephen Sondheim and George Furth musical about an artist that loses his way on the road to commercial success gets an intimate and delightful touch from the Music Theatre Company's Jessica Redish. This rare production has expanded its run until May 7.
Pricing: Tickets are $30

Disaster Relief for Japan
Where/When: ; Saturday, 2:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Why Go: Help Japan recover from its recent disaster at this event that includes live music from the Chicago Koto Group as well as lessons in origami and the chance to Skype with a survivor of the March 11 earthquake.
Pricing: Free, but donations are welcome.

Introduction to BirdingWhere/When: Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve; Saturday at 8 a.m.
Why Go: Join experienced birders for a Birding 101 lesson at the forest preserve just north of downtown Highwood on Lake Michigan.

Egg Hunt
Where/When: West Ridge Park; Saturday at 10 a.m.
Why Go: Set your kids loose to hunt for candy-filled eggs and the lone golden egg that contains a family pass to Hidden Creek Aqua Park. Stay after the hunt is over and get your photo taken with the Easter Bunny.
Pricing: Free (unless you meet the bunny, which costs $3).


Where/When: ; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 pm.
Why Go: Accept that it's still winter by spending the day indoors, surrounded by 8 big screen TVs and pizza, not to mention XBox and board games.
Pricing: Free.
