It's Criminal – An Unquestionably Innocent Man Was Sent to Cook County Jail
We recently described how Mr. Koger was brutally arrested and unjustly sentenced to nearly a year in jail for peacefully videotaping at an Ethical Humanist Society meeting in Skokie, which was open to the public. This past Tuesday, a large crowd turned out at the Skokie Court for a hearing, which was supposed to be about, among other things, his Post-Conviction Relief Petition (PCRP). This petition was filed in March and provided powerful evidence and arguments for his innocence.

Opinion: The Metra Mess

It’s high time we make a change in how the eleven Metra regional transit board members are named to office. The politically-appointed procedure doesn’t work anymore. Metra needs public elections to fill its Board positions, not arbitrary appointments from political hacks and their pals who attempt to manage our $33 million annual commuter railroad operations.

OneRepublic Lead Singer Ryan Tedder has never met an audience he didn't like...and Tuesday night during a feel-good concert at Highland Park's Ravinia, it was an old-fashioned love fest. Tedder couldn't hold back his love for Ravinia or Chicago, which he clearly treasures as the band's favorite stop on their tour.
