NWS: 4 to 6 Inches of Rain Recorded in Some Communities

Significant rainfall has caused flooding in some areas.

The rain just continues to fall and a heavy downpour early today has left standing water in area communities. 

But just how much rain has fallen so far? 

The National Weather Service posted the following rainfall totals from the past 24 hours earlier this morning: 

  • Cary: 6.15 inches
  • Lake Zurich: 5.63
  • Crystal Lake: 4.5
  • McHenry: 4.4
  • Arlington Heights: 4.31
  • Wheeling: 4.25
  • Woodstock: 4.07
  • Algonquin: 2.79
  • Lincolnshire: 2.58
  • Mundelein: 2.56
  • Chicago: 2.35
  • Barrington: 2.26
  • Lake Bluff: 1.51
  • O'Hare: 1.12
