Many thanks for reader Josh Holleb, who sent in these pictures of flooding Saturday evening at Laurel and Second in Highland Park.

How bad were the streets near you?

The Engineering Dept. of Highland Park can take great pride in their design for drainage of this Viaduct and the Public Works Dept. failed to provide adequate Warning Signs as well. Highland Park Police were oblivious to the dangerous condition and failed on their part as well, such is the reality of a place like Highland Park.

The problem with Sheridan rd. is that the drainage system needs to be updated, and being a STATE road, nothing is being done. The STATE wants Highland Park to take it over, but HP will only do so after the upgrades are completed, if ever. In the mentime the residents in the affected areas have to suffer with the recurring flooding in their basements, etc. There must be some type of solution that can be obtained in order to repair this reocurring disaster!!
