What Were Highland Park’s Top Stories of 2013?

A lot happened in Highland Park in 2013. When Patch took a look at its most read stories, some of which had national appeal, there were some surprises.

We will be taking a look back today through Wednesday listing the 10 most read stories. Our countdown starts with eight through 10.

10.       When a Highland Park High School student dresses as Jesus Christ for Halloween, some people were uncomfortable. He was questioned about his costume and sent back to class.

9.         After a woman was hit by a car in downtown Highland Park on a Saturday evening in October, she was cited for jaywalking and the motorist arrested for driving with a suspended license.

8.         Less than a week before Thanksgiving, a new Highland Park family lost its home to fire. A few days after that, they expressed their thanks to those who helped.
