Art Center 'Goghs' Green

Nonprofit holds annual recycled art benefit to open monthlong event.

The has taken on the appearance of a salon for the organization's , which runs through Aug. 18.

Every available inch of space--floor to ceiling--is taken up by paintings, photographs, drawings, jewelry and sculpture.

Friday night was the Art Center's opening reception for the monthlong event. For a premium, guests were given the opportunity to peruse the donated works before the general public. The evening included a silent auction, a live auction featuring some of the more high-ticket items, food from and Bent Fork Bakery, and an opportunity for people to come out and show their support for the Art Center.

"I'm very proud of it," event founder and former event chairwoman Adrian Aaronson said while she scoped out a drawer filled with looseleaf prints.

"It's my baby," she added. "Every year it gets better. The enthusiasm seems to grow and grow."
