Archaeology and the Biblical Record

Fran and Bernie Alpert will discuss their upcoming book, Archaeology and the Biblical Record, as well as the collection of Israeli antiquities in the Rissman Family Kol Ami Museum.

Bernie Alpert received a B.S. in earth sciences from the University of Illinois and an M.S. in Classical archaeology from Oxford University. He has been excavating in Israel for over thirty years. He and his wife Fran founded Archaeological Seminars in Jerusalem, Israel.

Fran Alpert received a B.A. in education and an M.S. in Classical archaeology from Oxford University. She is an educator, a licensed Israel tour guide, and a lecturer known for her creative approach to the Land of Israel.

Archaeology and the Biblical Record will be published in July by Hamilton Books.

This event is part of a day-long celebration of Israel's 64th birthday and is supported by a Ma’a lot Grant, a joint project of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism Israel Commission and Nefesh B’Nefesh.
