Highland Park Actors Star in 'Cats'

Production by Highland Park Players opens Friday in Northbrook.

Nine local actors will be playing the roles of the cats in the Highland Park Players production of Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber’s “Cats” opening at 8 p.m. Friday at the Northbrook Theater.

Hannah Rose of Highland Park will handle the role of Jellylorum while fellow Highland Park actor Anne Badamo-Connors will be Electra.

Based on T.S. Eliot’s play, “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats,” the costuming, production and direction is all being done by local talent.

After its opening performance Friday, there will be productions at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 and 12 as well as Oct. 18 and 19. There will also be matinees at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 and 13. Tickets are $20 and are available online.

Other actorsin the musical are Dave Lemrise (Munkustrap) of Buffalo Grove, Denise Tamburrino (Grisabella) of Deerfield, Glencoe’s Mike Weaver (Old Deuteronomy) and Alexis Armstrong (Bombalurina), Annie Jo Fischer (Victoria) of Wheeling, Tony Mansfield of Evanston (Silabub) and Missy Greenberg (Jennyanydots) of Northbrook.
