Hundreds Showcase Work at Port Clinton Art Fest

Thousands of guests cruised Port Clinton Square and the surrounding streets to check out a huge variety of art and snack on delicious foods from 18 local restaurants. This was the 28th year of the Port Clinton Art Festival and the 5th for the Taste of Highland Park. Two-hundred and sixty artists were on hand to sell and discuss their works making it one of the largest summer art fests in the Chicago area.

The down economy did not keep the crowd away nor did it worry Amy Amdur of Highland Park, the head of Amdur productions. Her company produces similar shows throughout the country through the year.
“It’s been busy, the crowds are great,” Amdur said Saturday morning. “The art buying began when the artists were setting up last night (Friday).” The show continued through 6 p.m. Sunday.
