Ravinia 2013 Season Begins Thursday

Folk-rock legends Judy Collins and Don McLean kick off a season of 120 events through September 15. Are you ready?

Another summer in Highland Park means another season of Ravinia. Are you ready?
The season kicks off Thursday with an opening night concert by folk-rock legends Judy Collins and Don McLean.
There are more than 120 events planned this summer. There will be performances by pop acts like Sting, Jewel, Matchbox 20, Goo Goo Dolls and Sheryl Crow. On the classical side, there's Itzhak Perlman, Leon Fleisher and Alisa Weilerstein. Piano virtuoso Lang Lang will return as well.

Then there's the Ravinia standards: a performance by Tony Bennett, performances by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and a night with the B-52's and the Go-Go's.
