Lord of the Rings, Lifehouse and Lyle Lovett

The Lord of the Rings – The Fellowship of the Ring
. While audiences watch Jackson’s first installment to the Lord of the Rings trilogy on colossal video screens, the CSO will recreate the score that earn Howard Shore an Academy Award (an Award he would win again for 2003’s The Return of the King).

The Lincoln Trio
Come see Ravinia’s own “musical ambassadors,” The Lincoln Trio as they perform one of their most imaginative assemblies to date. All of the works they’ll be performing are those composed by women. They also happen to be pieces that are both highly distinguished and critically acclaimed. It’s time to see why The Strad magazine calls The Lincoln Trio “sensational” and “bewitching.”

Anne, Anton, Angel and Air
Anne Akiko Meyers makes her Ravinia debut in what the program is calling “bold” and “not for the musically faint of heart.” Meyers’ vivid imagination comes through her Stradivarius violin said once to have belonged to Napoleon Bonaparte. From Bach to Ravel, Meyers’ ability to captivate goes far beyond her strings.

Lifehouse 
Known for its 2001 mainstream hit “Hanging By A Moment,” Lifehouse is a prolific band, steadily producing albums for the past twelve years. The audience will watch as Lifehouse performs hits from the past as well as a few songs from their new album.

Lyle Lovett & His Large Band
Standing the test of time, Lyle Lovett wraps up the weekend at the Ravinia festival. Since 1980, Lovett has recorded 13 albums, released over twenty singles and has brought home four Grammys, including Best Male Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Album. Lovett will treat the audience to a splendid mix of twanging country and smooth vocals.
