Summer Movies A Family Affair in Port Clinton

Children and parents gather to watch 'Despicable Me.'

Residents of all ages came to last Saturday night's outdoor movie screening, hosted by the . Though it attracted plenty of young families, some adults were among the viewers too.

"It looked like fun," said Effie Kalb, who was among those adults in attendance. She said she saw the event announced in the paper. 

The Alliance had a good turnout of parents, youngsters and others at the event.

Dana Schibel laughed about how she ended up at Port Clinton Square.

"We were eating dinner at the BBQ Spot, saw the movie times and came by, she said. "I decided to see how long [my daughters] would last."

Sherwin Porec said had this to say: "I came here so my 5-year-old could burn off some energy... This is the place to hang out, where all the kids are."

It seems his assessment was fair. The Despicable Me screening was a hot spot for children and their parents in Highland Park.
