Did Another Highland Park Restaurant Close?

In the Raw not been open for more than two weeks, indicated on its website it would reopen last week but remains shuttered. No word from owner on status.

Is Highland Park’s In the Raw vegan restaurant still in business?

No one has a definitive answer but the eatery has been shuttered. A message on its website said it is working on its fall menu and would reopen last Wednesday. As of Sunday afternoon, it was still closed with its outdoor furniture on the sidewalk unsecured.

“It’s been at least two weeks (since it had been open),” United States Postal Service letter carrier Jeffrey Mitchell said. He talked to Patch while on his route Friday.

People continue to come by for a meal and get disappointed. A mother and her son hoped to have lunch there Friday but found the doors locked. “If my son does what he is supposed to do all week we come to In the Raw,” Jennifer Townsley of Northbrook said.

Patch has left messages for owner Beth Taussig and sent her an email asking the status of a restaurant. She has not responded.

Earlier this year, Taussig and her husband, Mark Taussig, were sued by Lake Forest’s Marcus Lemonis. Lemonis claims he invested more than $100,000 in the business exchange for an ownership interest. Lemonis also asserts the Taussigs refused to honor their end of the bargain.
