Real Urban Barbecue, located at 610 Central Avenue #177 in downtown Highland Park, takes a sophisticated twist this Valentine’s Day, Tuesday, February 14.

Taking a page from his former life running a steakhouse, Real Urban Barbecue owner Jeff Shapiro will transform the restaurant into a romantic dinner setting beginning at 4 p.m., complete with white table clothes, flickering candlelight, and a ceiling filled with red balloons.
In addition to their regular menu, RUB will offer Valentine’s Day specials including: filet mignon with veal demi glaze and two sides for $28; pan seared salmon with choice of tomato basil relish or lemon butter sauce and two sides for $18; lobster bisque; herb roasted fingerling potatoes; and grilled asparagus throughout the day.
Real Urban Barbecue is also pleased to announce it now offers great wines by the half and full bottle. The selection includes crisp Chardonnay, Alexander Valley, full bodied and great with salmon; or Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley to pair with filet mignon. RUB will also offer Champagne on Valentine’s Day by the half or full bottle.
