Highland Park Black Friday Starts Thanksgiving

Three Highland Park stores will open Thursday while Deerfield merchants wait until Friday for holiday shopping.

Black Friday starts at 5 p.m. Thanksgiving Day in Highland Park while Deerfield merchants will wait until Friday for the traditional kickoff of the holiday shopping season.

Toys R Us gets things started opening at 5 p.m. Thursday a 30 hour marathon ending at 11 p.m. Friday while Target starts 15 hours of continuous shopping at 8 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. JoS A. Bank also opens at 8 p.m. Thursday but closes five hours later. taking a break until 8 a.m. Friday.

Neither Patch nor Deerfield Bannockburn Riverwoods Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Victoria Street know of any Deerfield business with shopping hours Thursday. Both Deerfield and Highland Park merchants will be in full swing Friday and Saturday.
