Illinois Not Business-Friendly Says Small Business Advocate from Highland Park

Elliot Richardson, a Highland Park resident and attorney, says Illinois lawmakers aren't doing what's necessary to foster economic growth.

Highland Park resident Elliot Richardson, an attorney who also serves as CEO of the Chicago-based Small Business Advocacy Council, shared with Crain's Chicago Business his thoughts on the perception that Illinois is a difficult place to own a business.

Richardson, a Democrat who ran in the primary election for the 10th Congressional District in 2010, told Crain's in a guest opinion column he feels Illinois politicians do not seem too concerned with creating a business-friendly environment.

He calls on the Illinois General Assembly to pass a bill to reduce LLC (Limited Liability Company) fees by half, before the spring session ends on May 31, according to the column in Crain's.
