North Shore Ice Arena Welcomes Perani's Hockey World

Sad that the Blackhawk's season is over? Get your hockey fix at the new Perani's Hockey World, which recently opened at the North Shore Ice Arena in Northbrook.

Perani's Hockey World recently opened its first Chicagoland location, at the North Shore Ice Arena in Northbrook, reported the Chicago Tribune.

The Michigan-based company was started in 1976 by Bob Perani, a professional hockey player who was a goalie with the Flint Generals, according to the store's website. Perani's operates 22 stores across the country and in Canada.

With the Blackhawks winning the Stanley Cup, "It's been perfect timing," Robert Perani (Bob Perani's son) told the Tribune. "We've always been interested in the Chicago market."

The new Northbrook store sells a variety of hockey equipment, from sticks to helmets. Hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
