Real Urban Barbecue Turns One

Notice that humongous pig by Port Clinton last weekend? We did, too.

If you walked down First Street this weekend, you may have wondered what that gigantic, inflated pig was doing by . Well, it belonged to Highland Park's  (RUB) and, ironically enough, the giant pig was celebrating the restaurant's first birthday.

The restaurant boasts that it has sold close to 78,000 pounds of brisket in the past year to clientele that included celebrity visitors like Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau and Chicago Bears current player Chris Williams and 1985 player Matt Suhey.

To help with the celebrating, here's a round up of all the press Patch has given RUB since it opened last November.
