Michael Belsky Joins Greenwich Investment Management

Greenwich Investment Management, Inc. is pleased to announce that Michael D. Belsky of

Highland Park, Illinois has joined GIM as Managing Director of the Fixed Income Unit and as a

member of the GIM Executive Committee.

After earning his master’s degree from the University of Chicago Mike worked at Northern Trust

Company and in 1989 established and managed the public finance department at Mesirow Financial

Group in Chicago. In 1993, Mike joined Fitch, one of the three largest bond rating firms. Mike’s

career at Fitch spanned 15 years, and he became Managing Director of the Public Finance Group of

100 tax exempt bond analysts.

In 2008, Mike left Fitch to serve on the Financial Accounting Standards Board that was responsible

for developing accounting standards for state and local governments. Concurrently Mike developed

a credit surveillance system for a $3 billion asset manager of tax exempt bonds in Chicago. Most

recently Mike worked for New Vernon Wealth Management where he continued his analysis and

management of tax exempt bond portfolios.

Mike’s attributes include intelligence and attention to analytical detail. In addition to his impressive

experience Mike has an entrepreneurial spirit that fits well with the extant GIM investment

management culture. Mike’s communication skills were honed by his 16 years of public service in

Highland Park where he served as mayor for 8 years. Mike will use his experience and extensive

contacts in municipal finance to expand GIM’s business.

GIM is fortunate to be able to attract a person of Mike’s abilities and experience. We look forward

to introducing Mike to GIM clients over the balance of 2013.
