New Orchestra & Chamber Music Coordinator Jeremy Krifka joins Midwest Young Artists

(Highwood, Illinois) The Midwest Young Artists (MYA) youth music conservatory is pleased to announce the addition of Jeremy Krifka to their staff of dedicated administrators. MYA is a top rated Chicago area educational institution that serves over 1,000 pre-college musicians annually with diverse ensemble offerings in orchestra, chamber music, early childhood education, jazz, voice, music theory, summer programs and competitions. Jeremy will begin on October 9th as the new Coordinator of Orchestras and Chamber Music at MYA.

 

Jeremy is an alum of the Midwest Young Artists orchestra and chamber music programs, where his love of music was fostered throughout high school.  Jeremy completed his Instrumental Music Education degree (with an emphasis on strings) at the University of Illinois, earning a spot on the dean’s list for 5 semesters. In addition, Jeremy was named an Edmund J. James Scholar for six semesters.

Jeremy worked as a Learning Center Assistant for the Education Section of the Spurlock Museum in Champaign/Urbana during his college years. There he researched world cultures, created and led educational activities, composed promotional tweets and assisted in the development office.  He also was an Intern for the Downtown Champaign Chamber Music Festival where he handled all aspects of the four-day program.  Since graduation he has worked at Ravinia as a Development Intern and, more recently, as a Coordinator of Major Gifts, working on behalf of the President, CEO, Director of Development and Associate Director of Development as well as many additional development activities.
