Hammerli Alpha and Omega

For many, the start of the legendary Hammerli guns was their model 100 free pistol, for olympic competition.  One of their last design, before acquisition by Walther/Umarex, was the model 160 Special.

Illustrated here (and available Saturday for purchase) are the model 101, and 160 Special.  A model 160 also will be available.  Presence of the 150 series is uncertain at this time, versus future availability.

The 160 is slightly less accurate than the Pfuff and Steyr, but a bit easier to use.  The Hammerli guns also have a relatively high barrel position compared to the Steyr and Pfuff, resulting in a lower sight distance from the barrel.

The model 160 is a very similar gun, but looks much different due to an entirely different weight system (in a fore-end below the barrel) and absence of the muzzle brake.

Although ancient, the 101 remains an excellent target gun, on which many aspects of the TOZ 35 series are based.

With either gun, whether at Hammerli's alpha point or their omega, one can be sure to be on target with perfection.

Curiously, the era of the 101 does overlap with the time period that Highland Park served as a major conduit of assault weapons distribution to the middle ease.

Please refer to the prior discussions regarding whether these guns are classified as assault weapons or not.
