SAKO: the non banned Assault Weapon

Mentioned in the flyer, the SAKO TriAce also will be available.  This, as mentioned previously, is considered to be the ultimate assault weapon for urban or forested areas, with a useful range to 60 Meters.

It also probably is not included in the Highland Park Assault Weapon ban (again, a potential problem of vague wording).

The SAKO TriAce is one of the few handguns offered at this sale, which has been involved in olympic gold medal victories.  As an assault weapon, the preferred caliber is .32, but a .22lr upper section and magazine also are available.

This is one of the few pistols which is as accurate in .22lr as it is in .32.  The margin of difference is much smaller than with the P240 in that regard.

The design has similarities to the Walther and Hammerli designs, but is much more advanced, and with an incredible array of adjustments possible.

The gun illustrated has a special target trigger shoe and special sights, patterned on later-generation combat sights.  A standard trigger shoe is provided with it.

The grip has been remodeled but is a better fit for a medium to large hand, than is the original.  The original type grips are available, if desired.

The twist rate in the SAKO .32 is faster than in the Walther and SIG pistols, giving better accuracy at 50 M than either of the others can attain.

SAKO is not (or at least was not) a company name, but an acronym.  This gun is from those days, when the difference was recognized, and SAKO was purchased by Beretta.

This is one of the more expensive guns offered, and probably the most accurate of any.  In .22lr, it is as accurate as the best free pistols, but does not quite have the range due to the barrel length.

One last comment.  Several have asked about the conflict in schedule of the show, and the Sabbath for the  Orthodox.  This unforutnately was unavailable for this event.  However, if the Sabbath will prevent presence at the event, advance reservations  or viewing of the guns by others can be arranged.  Advanced reservation, and simple inspection of the gun by others with the potential for someone else's later purchase generally are not "straw man" sales and are acceptable for legal purchase of the gun by an otherwise authorized individual, at a later date.
