Teen Admits Raping Highland Park Girl by Congress Theater
A teen himself, Oak Park youth is sentenced to six years in prison.
An Oak Park youth charged with raping a Highland Park teenager on New Year’s Eve in 2011 pleaded guilty today in Cook County Criminal Court and was sentenced to six years in prison, according to a story in the Chicago Sun Times.
Anwar Barbour, who was 16 on Dec. 31, 2011, admitted to being one of three teenagers who attacked a Highland Park High School student, 18 at the time, outside the Congress Theater in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood.
Barbour admitted to one count of criminal sexual abuse and another for robbery, according to the Sun Times. He was sentenced to three years for the rape charge and another six for robbery by Cook County Criminal Court Judge Diane Cannon. The sentences will run concurrently.
