Recipe: Iced Coffee!

I love coffee, but when it's 90 degrees outside, not so much. Fortunately, iced coffee gives me the caffeine jolt I want, and cools me off. Here's my recipe..

I admit it, I'm a fan of caffeinated beverages.  Especially a nice quadruple shot of espresso!

But when it's 90 degrees outside, a hot beverage isn't too attractive.  So to solve the problem of having too much blood in my caffeinestream, I whip up a pitcher of iced coffee.  Here's my recipe (which my wife swears tastes just like that commercial iced coffee in the carton).

  • Brew 1 pot of coffee (10 cups).  I use Illy whole-bean, but you can use whatever you enjoy most - just fresh brew it.  Allow to cool about 10 minutes.
  • Pour the freshly brewed coffee into a 2 quart container.
  • Add the 15 heaping tablespoons of sugar.  (the real stuff!)
  • Add 3 shot glasses of French Vanilla Syrup
  • Add enough 2% cold milk to bring the liquid level up to 2 quarts
  • Stir.  Chill in fridge.

Enjoy your refreshing caffeinated beverage!  And if you have any ideas for enhancements, let me know in the comments!
